Jefferson County Rescue Squad has long been a staple volunteer organization that provides relief to citizens of Jefferson County that find themselves in distress. The Rescue Squad does both water and land rescue and serves as a first responder for Jefferson County. But, sometimes, this active group of volunteers simply serve the community by outreach. Monday evening members of the Jefferson County Rescue Squad could be found in Historic Downtown Dandridge handing out trick or treats to hundreds of local children.

Halloween evening is a family friendly time for fellowship and fun in the small town and the Jefferson County Rescue Squad was on hand to donate their time and sweet, sugary resources to the event. Costume clad kids ( and sometimes dogs) with their families in tow gathered around the Rescue Squad, making the sight of the members and their truck a little more familiar and comforting should they be encountered in an emergency situation.

Around 40 members volunteer with the Jefferson County Rescue Squad. They answer many hundreds of calls every year, keeping Jefferson County residents and visitors safe in the wet or dry. Chief J Ray Walker leads the brave, community minded group as they dedicate their time to Jefferson County.
