House GOP reelects Jeremy Faison as caucus chairman

Republicans increase supermajority to 75

Members of the Tennessee House Republican Caucus unanimously reelected State Rep. Jeremy Faison, R-Cosby, as caucus chairman for the 113th General Assembly during a biennial organizational meeting held in Buchanan, Tenn. on Nov.22.

Faison, who will serve his third term as caucus chair, was instrumental in successfully guiding Republican members to victory in several competitive races on Nov. 8, securing the GOP’s historic 75-24 supermajority in the Tennessee House of Representatives.

“Jeremy Faison has done a great job unifying our Republican membership during his service as our caucus chairman,” said House Speaker Cameron Sexton, R-Crossville. “Congratulations to Chairman Faison on his reelection, and I look forward to working with him during the 113th General Assembly so we can continue advancing our Republican priorities and ensure that Tennessee always leads.”

As Republican caucus chairman, Faison will preside over meetings and is the second ranking officer of the caucus. His duties include calling meetings as requested by the Republican majority leader, presiding and maintaining order at such meetings as well as providing a forum in which the will of the majority prevails while protecting the rights of those whose views are in the minority. He is responsible for

maintaining communications with members regarding legislative matters and coordinating with the Senate Republican caucus chairman to facilitate joint opportunities for activities, events, and meetings.

“I am incredibly humbled and honored to have once again earned the trust of the people here at home as well as my colleagues in the House,” Faison said. “As Tennesseans, we are fortunate to live in a state that is a model for the rest of the nation for our low taxes, fiscal stability, and individual liberties. This talented group of 75 leaders are prepared to meet any challenge that comes our way.”

Faison has strong institutional knowledge, fundraising and political experience that is critical in this Republican leadership position. His role as caucus chairman includes supporting the majority leader with fundraising efforts.

“It is a privilege to work alongside a servant leader like Chairman Faison who has prioritized the needs of his community and fought for conservative values throughout his time in the General Assembly,” House Majority Leader William Lamberth, R-Portland. “Together, the Republican supermajority will continue to build a brighter future for the next generation of Tennesseans.”

Chairman Faison can be reached at his legislative office in Nashville by calling 615-741-6871 or by email at rep.jeremy.faison@capitol.tn.gov.

The 113th General Assembly officially begins on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023.
