MARTHA RUTH BROOKS, age 80, of Dandridge, TN passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 following an extended illness. She was a member of Wesley’s Chapel United Methodist Church and attended Grant’s Chapel UMC. She was a long-time employee of the Tennessee Handbags Co. and Gaby Hosiery Mill of Dandridge. Preceded in death by her husband, Bill Brooks; father, Harvey Smith; mother, Mary Gann; and step-mother, Pauline Gass. Survived by her children, Patsy (Gerald) Pratt, Virginia Maxine (Jerry) Sutton, JR Brooks and Sharon Brooks; grandchilden, Renaee Elmore, Scotty and Shane Pratt, Chris and Brittney Spurgeon, James and Jessica Brooks; great-grandchildren, Jacoby Pratt and Fox Askew ;sisters, Lucille Nicholson, Imogene Bryan, Gail (Mark) Sands, Alice (David) Forrester, and Ruby Gentry; brothers, Harley (Betty) Smith, Alfred Smith. Funeral service, Thursday, 7:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel, Jefferson City with Rev. Ray Petty officiating. Interment graveside service Friday, 11:00am at Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday, 5:00 to 7:00pm prior to service at FARRAR FUNERAL HOME, JEFFERSON CITY. 865-475-3892
