GRITS promo tn wxHighly acclaimed music group GRITS From Dumplin Valley will be performing at the Morristown VFW concert hall this Sat night Feb 23rd @ 9pm, located at 503 E Andrew Johnson Hwy. This venue is 21 and over for smoking is permitted.

GRITS performs on average 100 dates per year, and has recently opened for top acts such as Little River Band, 1964 The Tribute, Joe Nichols, The Beat Daddys and Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels, and others GRITS has also backed blues great Larry Grisham and former Raylette Paula Michelle on select shows since 2008.

GRITS formed in 2006 after Mark Havely and Noe Cruz moved to Dumplin Valley from Southern California. East Tn is home for Mark, while Noe, an Apache Native from the West, (who now speaks with a southern drawl ) loves residing in Dumplin Valley. GRITS is known to be an extremely versatile band, playing a wide variety of original and cover material, including many variations of blues, funk, dance, old school R&B, jazz and even some country.

Recognized as one of East Tn Region’s best bands, the makeup consists of four extremely talented musicians with a combined 150+ years of professional experience. Like fine wine, age has only improved the flavor of this band. GRITS is fronted by Rick Sharp, (who also by fate now also lives in Dumplin Valley) & Rob Higginbotham (via NY to Maryville) on guitars and vocals, with Noe Cruz on bass with drummer Mark Havely making up the rhythm section, having played together for 22 years.
