Regional author Adam H. Alfrey was on hand on Saturday afternoon to sign copies of his book The Great Smoky Mountains. A Knoxville native, Alfrey is the curator of exhibitions at the East Tennessee History Center. He was at Rachel’s Attic Antiques & Collectables and the Dandridge General Store this weekend to greet readers and pen his name to copies of his book. The work features real photo postcards, part of both private and public collections, which depict the history of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The time consuming endeavor resulted in a book that is an interesting look into birth of one of the most pivotal resources in the State and provides a pictorial of the creation of a National Park.
