TNStars™ program offers Tennesseans a chance to win

Today the TNStars College Savings 529 Program is announcing the “What’s Your Game Plan?” promotion to give away tickets to the semifinal games and final game of the 2013 Southeastern Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament. The tournament is being played at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Anyone who visits www.tnstars.com/sec-tickets can enter. One winner will be selected at random to receive a family pack of four tickets to the three final games of the tournament. The winner will be announced on the program’s Facebook page on March 6. No purchase is required to enter.

The Tennessee Stars College Savings 529 Program is a tax-advantaged college savings plan that is designed to help parents, grandparents and friends support the educational needs of loved ones.

“The SEC tournament is a high profile event that offers us the chance to reach a large audience which values higher education,” said Treasurer David H. Lillard, Jr. “The TNStars College Savings 529 Program offers a low-cost way to save for children’s college expenses with attractive investment options and special tax advantages.”

The Treasury Department is also offering a $50 match for the first $50 invested in each new account and a $100 incentive for each account holder who rolls over an account balance from another college savings plan into TNStars. While participation in the TNStars program is open to anyone, including people living in other states, these incentives are only offered to Tennessee residents.
