With the winds of March, everyone’s mind turns to green-and not only for St. Patrick’s Day. The girls in green are making their rounds selling their delectable cookies. Girl Scouts are out working hard to sell boxes of cookies and they are building important skills in the process. The Girl Scout Organization encourages their members to hone their people skills, as well as learn accountability for money and set goals through the sell of cookies. There are 11 different brands of cookies that range from the traditional thin mints and Trefoils (shortbreads) to the new and exotic Mango Crèmes and Thank U Berry Munch. Girl Scout cookies have been a part of the scouting and American tradition for almost 100 years and folks still highly anticipate the arrival of those brightly colored boxes full of sweet treats.
