Jefferson County Planning Commission Approves Body Farm Guidelines

The Jefferson County Board of Zoning Appeals held their meeting prior to the Regular Meeting of the Jefferson County Planning Commission on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in the Historic Jefferson County Courthouse.

The BZA Meeting was Called to Order by Chairman of the Board Reneau. Upon a Motion from Board Member Batson and 2nd from Board Member Wilson the Minutes were Approved.

One item of Business was before the Board. Jefferson County Planner David Williams recommended the approval of a request presented by Roger Alexander, a Representative of Clayton Mobile Homes, for a 12 ½ ft front set back variance for a home on Clevenger Road in New Market. Alexander was representing David Scott and Lucretia Denise Pruitt. Board Member Batson made the Motion for Approval and was 2nd by Board Member Schradar-Passed Unanimously.

The Board of Zoning Appeals was Adjourned and the Jefferson County Planning Commission was Called to Order by Chairman Reneau.

Absent from Roll Call was Planning Commissioner Tucker.

Upon a Motion from Planning Commissioner Scarlett and 2nd from Planning Commissioner Batson the Minutes were Approved.

A site plan review to expand the truck stop located at 1217 Deep Springs Road in Dandridge (formerly the TR Truck Stop) was brought before the Commission for Approval. Recommendation for Approval was given by County Planner Williams. With a Motion from Planning Commissioner Batson and 2nd from Planning Commissioner Springfield the plan was Approved.

Rodney Manning presented a preliminary plat for approval for seven lots off of Harrison Ferry Road in White Pine. The request was submitted by Patricia Ivens and was Approved upon recommendation of County Planner Williams and Motion from Scarlett and 2nd from Batson.

With a recommendation from Williams, Motion from Scarlett and 2nd from Batson, the Commission Approved the final plat submission for a three lot re-subdivision on Grove Road in Dandridge. The request was presented by Jeff Maples and Louise Howard.

The proposed zoning resolution for Cadaver Research Centers in the unincorporated portions of Jefferson County was Approved with a Motion from Batson and 2nd from Wilson. Tim Seals, Director of Zoning for Jefferson County, stated that the resolution will be presented for approval to the municipalities in April and the Jefferson County Commission in June. The resolution establishes regulations governing cadaver research uses and facilities within the unincorporated portions of Jefferson County and was prepared by a sub committee that included members of the Planning Commission, the County Planner, and citizens.  The Meeting was Adjourned.
