Spring Spectacular Plant Sale to benefit UT Gardens

With spring in the air, now is the time to shop for unique and cutting-edge plants for your garden. The University of Tennessee Gardens is holding its spring plant sale on Saturday, April 6, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A preview sale will be held on Friday, April 5, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. for all UT employees, Gardens volunteers, and Friends of the UT Gardens. Friends will also receive a 10 percent discount on all purchases. If you are not a Friend of the UT Gardens, you may sign up for a membership at the preview sale and receive the member discount on plants.

A variety of plants will be on sale to meet your landscaping needs. Some unique trees that will be available include Slender Silhouette Sweet gum, Pagoda Dogwood and Smoke Tree. A variety of perennials such as ‘Phantom’ Hydrangea, Joe Pye Weed and much more will also be offered.

Now is a great time to plant your purchases, and don’t forget to join the Gardens membership to save 10 percent off your entire purchase.

The mission of the UT Gardens is to foster appreciation, education and stewardship of plants through garden displays, collections, educational programs and research trials. The gardens are open during all seasons and free to visit, although some educational events are fee-based.
