JCHS to host parent information sessions Thursday evening in conjunction with parent/teacher conferences

Jefferson County Department of Education featureJefferson County High School will host three separate parent meetings on April 4. Parents of 9th grade students will meet at 5:30 p.m. The session for parents of 10th grade students will begin at 6:30 p.m. The informational meeting for parents of 11th grade students will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Topics to be covered include: high school renovation plans; registration and scheduling for the 2013-2014 school year; graduation requirements; scholarship information; and dual enrollment and Advanced Placement opportunities. Additionally, several colleges will be at the high school to share information regarding entrance requirements, programs, and funding sources including Tusculum, Pellissippi State, Walters State, East Tennessee State University, King College, Carson Newman University, Maryville College, Middle Tennessee State University, Fountain Head College, and Lincoln Memorial University.

This event will provide a wealth of information for parents.

Teachers will also be available from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to meet with parents regarding student progress in individual classes.
