“In His Steps” Opens at Legacy Theatre April 12, 2013

Legacy Theatre In His Steps 04082013Legacy Theatre in Jefferson City announces their upcoming production of In His Steps, written by Philip Grecian, based on the book of the same name, by Charles Sheldon. Set in the small town of Raymond, Kansas, this is the story of a group of people that are tired of playing at religion and decide to walk out what they have said they have believed for years – no matter what it costs them. The result is controversial, stirring and thought provoking. Although this classic was written so many years ago, the story is timeless in its message.

Appearing on the Legacy stage for the first time are Chris (Jasper Chase) and Jamie Sood (Dr. Elizabeth West), Melissa Sparks, Julia Roach, Rachel Rogers and Corey Baker. The leading role of Henry Maxwell will be played by Benjamin Myers, with April Brown playing Mary, his wife. Legacy is also very happy to welcome back Tom Hacker, Bria Hacker, MacKenzie Price Myers, Mark McConkey, Joseph Sellars, Saterra Sellars, MaryKate Jones, Harrison Recker, Tracy Caudill, Jim Hale, Luvern Miller, and Bob Recker, as well as a wonderful company of actors joining the townspeople. Deborah Miller is the technical director, with Alexis Roberts as stage manager. Over wardrobe is Teresa Douglas, and Mindy Williams serves as marketing manager. Kim Fuerst, administrator, Mike Fuerst sound engineer and James Johnson, house manager, round out the Legacy production team.

“We have a strong cast that’s been working really hard to bring these characters to life,” says Artistic Director, Peggy Horton Price. “Even in the early stages of rehearsals, the message of this play brought lots of emotion. I think this is a gripping story that our audiences will very much enjoy!”

In His Steps is an exciting play. and though not a musical, is filled with beautiful, classic and much-loved hymns. Audiences will laugh, cry and be encouraged by this fast-moving production. Legacy Theatre will perform IN HIS STEPS at Heritage Fellowship, 316 W. Old Andrew Johnson Highway, Jefferson City.
