Jefferson City Man Charged After Pointing Weapon At Officers

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department received a call at 12:59 pm on Monday, April 22, 2013. According to information released by the Jefferson County Sheriff McCoig, a male and female were engaged in a domestic dispute and were threatening to kill each other. Sgt. James Harville was dispatched to 559 Rocktown Road, Jefferson City, Tennessee, to investigate the complaint. After knocking on the door of the home, Sgt. Harville was threatened by a male at the address, Ronnie Cameron-age 51. Cameron pointed a weapon at the Officer, who took cover. Officers moved in and secured the residence. Following unsuccessful dialogue with Cameron, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office SORT team arrived on the scene and entry was made into the residence. Cameron was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault. Rocktown Road was temporarily shut down for the safety of citizens and officers, though it was opened after Cameron was taken into custody. The Tennessee Highway Patrol assisted in holding the perimeter during situation.
