Accident At High School Intersection Hwy 92 & Dumplin Valley Tuesday Evening

Tuesday evening at the busy intersection of Dumplin Valley Road and Highway 92, Dandridge Police & Fire Departments along with several other emergency responders were called to the scene of an accident involving a pickup truck and Ford Escort.  According to Dandridge Police Sergeant Dave Hager the pickup truck was West bound on E. Dumplin Valley Road at the stop sign.  The pickup violated the right-of-way by crossing in front of the Escort which was East bound on Highway 92 and was struck.  The driver was transported via Lifestar Helicopter Ambulance with possible head injuries.  The injured driver was alert and conscious prior to transport according to Sergeant Hager, however had no recollection of the accident that had just taken place.  An F-350 carrying lumber in an attached trailer was also involved in a collateral crash which caused the load to be scattered in the highway.
