The Jefferson County School Board met on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 and Approved a request from their Construction Manager to release specific scopes of work to begin the renovation to Jefferson County High School. Their approval will allow time critical materials and equipment to be purchased, as well as drawings and other work to ensure a May 28, 2013 start date. Making the Motion for the authorization to begin was Board Member Vines and he was 2nd by Board Member Jarnigan. The School Board and the Department of Education has been on a tight schedule to be ready to begin work when the current school year ends.
