The Experimental Aircraft Association in Morristown gave some local children the opportunity to have a high flying holiday weekend experience. On Saturday morning, members of the group met at the Morristown airport to give rides to interested kids, in an effort to spark an interest in aviation in the young flyers. The event had been postponed from the original date due to visibility concerns, however there were nothing but blue skies as the group took off last weekend. The EAA of Morristown is very active and, beyond Saturday’s event, hosts air shows at the Moore-Murrell Airport that feature classic and unique aircraft. There are various opportunities for children and teens to become involved in aviation, including becoming an Air Cadet, a division of the Civil Air Patrol.
