We invite you to participate in the Tennessee Longitudinal Survey of Ideas, conducted by researchers from the University of Tennessee Boyd Center for Business and Economic Research, in partnership with the Baker School of Public Policy and Public Affairs, Synergy Institute, and Launch Tennessee.

Purpose of the Research Study:

With funding from the National Science Foundation, this study aims to better understand the development of innovative products and processes in Tennessee, focusing on the timeline from conception to market. Your insights will help shape future research, programs, and policies that support entrepreneurship and innovation.

Who Should Participate:

Entrepreneurs, innovators, and others who work on the development of new products, services, and technologies. In addition to your own participation, we would be grateful if you would share this invitation with others in your network.

Survey Details:

  • Duration: Approximately 20 minutes.
  • Content: Questions about time spent in different phases of innovation.
  • Confidentiality: You can complete this survey without disclosing specific details about intellectual property, products, companies, or individuals. Data will be stored securely. Published results will be aggregated and not traceable to specific products, companies, or individuals.

Your participation is entirely voluntary and can be anonymous. You may skip any question or stop at any time. Survey participation and response data will not be shared outside of the Boyd Center research team or used for any purpose other than research.

If you have questions about the study, please contact Celeste Carruthers at carruthers@utk.edu. For questions about your rights as a participant, contact the University of Tennessee Institutional Review Board at utkirb@utk.edu.
