Carson-Newman WOV Announces “Back to the Creek Work Week”

Carson-Newman University Logo 600Carson-Newman University’s Women of Vision announce its “Back to the Creek Work Week” from July 10 to 13.

“Back to the Creek Week is a special opportunity for women who love Carson-Newman to make a positive impact,” said Kay O’Brien, the University’s first lady and president of Women of Vision.

Women supporters and friends are invited to partner with this group dedicated to the edification of the Carson-Newman campus. This year’s project focuses on Alumni Residence Hall, the only women’s residence hall on the University campus that does not reflect the Women of Vision touch. In years past, the women have worked in Swann Residence Hall and Butler Residence Hall.

Women of Vision is a group that seeks to glorify God and further His kingdom by nurturing truth, enhancing beauty and enriching goodness through the Carson-Newman experience.

“No special skills are needed just a desire to come to campus, join in the fun and fellowship, and contribute to the group project,” said O’Brien. “I hope any woman interested will come alongside Women of Vision for this unique, memory-building experience.”

The weekend costs $35 per person and includes housing in Alumni Hall, continental breakfasts, box lunches and dinners. Participants are asked to bring linens for a single bed, pillow, towels, toiletries, comfortable work clothes, work shoes, one snack item to share, and a favorite house cleaning item.

The weekend will kick off with check-in at 5 p.m. in the Alumni Hall lobby followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. in the JoAnn and Howard Chitwood Alumni Center at Hale Place.
