The Jefferson County Public Library System will become one on July 1, 2013. This means one library card will be good at Dandridge, Jefferson City, Parrott-Wood, and White Pine libraries. Customers will have online access to Jefferson County Public Library System’s card catalog. The new features will enable customers access to search the card catalog, reserve items and renew online. In addition to this, customers will be able to manage their library account from home. Starting in July, customers will have access to this new online service at the Jefferson County Public Library Systems main website www.jeffcountylibraries.org

The Jefferson County Public Libraries new online system is called Verso. VERSO is part of Auto-Graphics’ Library Management Platform – an integrated family of products, allowing libraries of any size to manage, share and search their resources. The Library Management Platform delivers proven, standards-based library automation solutions that are easy to use, install and maintain. For more information go to
(http://www4.auto-graphics.com/docs/Verso_Brochure.pdf ).

Because all four libraries are combining in July, the libraries will be replacing all library cards. The libraries are taking this opportunity to update their customers’ information. You may be asking; how can I get a new library card? Bring in an identification with your current mailing address or, if you have recently moved, bring a piece of mail and an identification to any of the four libraries. All four libraries will be requiring all customers to fill out new library card applications. At that time, customers will receive a new Jefferson County Public Library card that can be used at all four libraries. Mark the calendar and remember to stop by your local library in July for your new library card and find out how to utilize the new online services.
