White Pine came out early to celebrate Independence Day, as they braved the soggy conditions to host the first parade of the County at 10 am Thursday morning. A little damp weather did not lessen the excitement as the parade line made its way down the streets of town. Children gathered on the parade route to watch the colorful participants and have a chance to grab a piece of the candy that was flying in abundance. The July 4th parade offered locals an opportunity to celebrate the birth of the Nation and share in a great community spirit. The Parade is an annual event and is just one of the ways that Jefferson County residents showed their appreciation for the Country and the freedoms that they enjoy.
