The Dandridge Farmers Market, which is located each Saturday morning in downtown Dandridge, was bustling with business as locals and vacationers stopped by to check out what all the fuss was about. Few left empty handed, as irresistible fruits and vegetables and local foods were in abundance.

The Pea Pickin’ Hearts, a music duo from Gatlinburg, played their Appalachian country music to delighted patrons. The tunes fit the scene perfectly and were a nice addition to the morning market scene. As a special treat, Saturday’s Food Fest had samples of delicious food everywhere! Zucchini bread, watermelon, and multiple other samples of the fresh vegetables, fruit were on hand. The farmers market also features grass fed meats , fresh cinnamon rolls, cage free eggs, and fresh mushroom available for purchase.

The UT Extension Jefferson County 4-H helped children to plant their very own pumpkin seeds that they could take home and grow. The children will not only enjoy watching their plant grow, they also have the opportunity to bring back their pumpkin back to the market later in October for a chance to win a prize.
