Department of Transportation Road Projects Update

State Representative Jeremy Faison (R–Cosby) updated constituents today on various road projects that the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has begun construction on, as well as those projects planned for the future. The status of each project was officially released by TDOT earlier this week.

“The Tennessee Department of Transportation has multiple road projects underway or in various stages of planning for our community,” said Representative Jeremy Faison. “We are fortunate that these projects are moving forward because good roads and a strong infrastructure in our community will bolster economic development.”

Among the projects on the TDOT construction list are:

  • Preliminary engineering for a new bridge over the French Broad River in Jefferson County;
  • Construction to prevent rocks from falling onto I-40 at mile marker 449 in Cocke County;
  • Resurfacing of Blue Mill Road to the Greene County line;
  • And the addition of intersection improvements and signals at Dumplin Valley Road in Jefferson County.

“We are grateful that TDOT has recognized a need for these important upgrades to ensure our roadways are safe for the people of Tennessee,” Faison concluded.
