Coping With The Heat

Hello, Darlings. I am sure that you have noticed that it is hot and humid outside. Frankly, it is playing havoc with my hair and make up, as I am sure it is with yours as well. Now, I am not one to advocate that you step out with a naked face, however, during the dog days of summer, less is more. Now is the time to perfect a hairstyle that allows you to keep the hair off of your neck. A really pretty ponytail or up do will help keep you cool during the hot days. It can also help with hair that is impacted by the humidity. I like to invest in some pretty hair accessories to keep the look interesting and a great pair of fun, oversized earrings will keep those that are north of twenty from looking aged by their new style.

Nothing is scarier than a melting face. During hot days, less is best. Try to choose a moisturizer that has sun block and tint. Invest in a good, water proof mascara and a good sun block lip balm. I suggest forgoing the eyeliner during the day and use sparingly in the evening. A crème based eye shadow will stay on better in the heat and lip stains seem to have more staying power in the heat.

Remember, there will be plenty of time this fall and winter to try out all of those great, new products that are hitting the shelves. You can ride out the rest of the summer with a good pedicure, a light perfume scent and the less is more approach to hair and make up. And, my lovelies, if all else fails invest in a stylish pair of sunglasses. They can hide a myriad of problems and they will help any fashionista beat the melting heat.
