LOCAL SORORITY WINS AWARDS AT NATIONAL LEVEL

Gamma Sigma Sigma Award 1 08012013Carson-Newman’s Gamma Sigma Sigma national service sorority, brought home seven awards from the 31st National Convention held this year in St. Louis, Missouri.

Caitlin Taylor, President, and Autumn Jackson, national representative, were there to accept the national awards on behalf of the Gamma Pi chapter. The awards included the District Five Gold Star Award, the District Five Inter-Chapter Relations Award for “Run To Inspire the Girls 5k run/walk “, the District Five 1st place Chapter Award and 4 recognition awards for service with their national service partners which includes Alex’s Lemonade Stand, American Cancer Society, March of Dimes and the American Red Cross.

“I was so shocked at the recognition we received at convention. We serve our community and never expect anything back in return. It’s just a proud moment for me, proud to be a part of something that is bigger than myself and proud to lead such an awesome sorority,” said Gamma Pi Chapter President, Caitlin Taylor.
