Beatles Tribute Artists Coming to Tennessee Theater

Rolling Stone magazine has hailed 1964 “The Tribute” as the best Beatles tribute on Earth. The quartet spared no detail in their tribute to the Fab Four from the mop top hairstyles to the clothes and, most importantly, the music.

They are hailed by fans and critics alike as the most endearing Beatles tribute and the closest thing to the original. The band has been performing together since the early 1980s. “The Tribute” takes their audiences on a magical mystery tour and musical journey to an era in rock history that will delight fans and bring back memories of the British musical invasion.

Mark Benson portrays John Lennon, Graham Alexander plays Paul McCartney, Tom Work as George Harrison and rounding out the quartet is Bobby Potter as Ringo Starr. Together the band has performed more than 2,900 shows and worked together for more than 25 years, longer than the original Beatles.

The band performs songs from the pre-Sgt. Pepper era, 1964 “The Tribute” astonishingly recreates an early 60’s live Beatles concert, with period instruments, clothing, hairstyles, and onstage banter. Over 25 years of researching and performing have made 1964 masters of their craft.

There is one significant difference. During the Beatles’ heyday band performed concerts that lasted only 45 minutes. 1964 the Tribute performs an entire 90 minute show consisting of two sets of 45 minutes punctuated by a brief intermission. The band performs all the old standards that made the fab four the most popular musical group in history including “I wanna hold your hand” , “Hard day’s night”, “Help!”, and many other memorable tunes.

1964 The Tribute will be performing at the Tennessee Theater on South Gay Street on August 2, at 8 p.m. for more information call 865-684-1200.
