The retirement party for Mrs. Betty Jo Moore was held on Tuesday at 3:30 – 5:30. Mrs. Moore was the director of the White Pine Library for over 16 years. The library was packed as patrons, board members and friends stopped in to thank Mrs. Moore for all of her assistance and kindness throughout the years.

Mrs. Moore has seen many changes throughout her years of service and many new technological advances have occurred since her time of taking the director’s position.  When she first began there were no computers in the library, and now they are undergoing a second renovation of their complete system.  They have had renovations to the building, adding new shelves, patron computers and had a mural painted by a local painter in the kid’s area.

Being the director of the library has keep Mrs. Moore technologically involved; a big change during this time is has also been the change to e-books which she tends to read more of these days. Karen Kingsbury, Elizabeth Lowell, Nicholas Sparks are among her favorite authors to read. She is looking forward to retirement, with plans of working on projects, traveling, and visiting the library of course!

Mrs. Moore stated that she could not ask for a more fun loving, caring, dedicated staff, and they have done a tremendous job throughout the years. She said she will miss above all others the patrons and serving the community through the library.
