Dandridge Point Marina and Lakeside @ The Point will be sending off the summer of 2013 in style with a four night music festival. Thursday evening The Point will have The Fairfield Union Band kick starting the Labor Day weekend (6:30-10:30pm) into high gear. On Friday, The Fugitives will bring their sound to Lakeside (7-11pm) and Saturday Mountain Edge will make an encore appearance (7-11pm) on the dock. Grits will be grooving’ their bluesy beat on Sunday (6-10pm) to say farewell to summer and help usher in fall Lakeside @ The Point. Good music, good food and good friends are not the only thing on the menu for this weekend. The Point will be collecting non perishable food items and fresh fruit for Second Harvest. Food collected will go to support the East Tennessee Backpack Program for kids, which provides easy, accessible food to children on days that school is not in session. It is a great way to support the community while soaking up the last of summer and kicking off the new season. Summer 2013 was splendid and fall 2013 will be fabulous down by the water.
