Free Health Program for People with Diabetes, Beginning September 23, 2013

Beginning September 23rd, “Take Charge of Your Diabetes” will be offered FREE as a 6 session series. As a partnership between UT Extension- Jefferson County, Jefferson County Health Department, and Jefferson Rural Clinic, this program will offer tips and skills to help individuals manage problems common to diabetes as well as skills to work effectively with health care professionals.  The program also helps individuals take day-to-day responsibility for the care of their diabetes. The information presented in the program is research-based and was developed by Stanford University. Anyone living with diabetes or family member, friend, or caregiver of an individual with diabetes can participate in this program. The program will be offered on Mondays, September 23 to October 28 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., at the Jefferson Rural Clinic in Jefferson City. Registration is required as class size is limited.
