New Market Police Department Says Goodbye To Officer Pike

Officer Billy Pike finished his career with the New Market Police Department and moving to the University of Tennessee Police force. Officer Pike completed his seventh year of service with New Market Police Department on September 16, 2013.  He has achieved many accomplishments while with the department, ranging from helping people when in need and making numerous arrests.  While there he also started department involved in a military program called the 10-33 program, which has brought in over $450,000 in free equipment for the New Market Police Department. Chief Raymond Raper stated “He will be missed and the New Market Police Department will not be the same without him.”  Even though Officer Pike is moving on with his career, the city council agreed to keep him on part time employee status, in case of emergencies. Chief Raymond Raper and Mayor Charles Guinn gave Officer Pike a small going away party. Officer Pike stated “It has been an honor to serve the citizens of New Market and work along side some of the best officers, but I’m very excited about the opportunity I’ve been blessed with and look forward to what the future holds for my career.”  Officer Pike made an impact on the citizens of New Market and will be missed dearly by the community and co-workers.
