Hosted by Rachel’s Attic and Dandridge General Store, local high school teacher and children’s book author Gary Harmon signed copies of his new book My Daddy Takes His Legs Off. Mr. Harmon is a teacher in Knox County. He is the Founder/President of Challenge Accepted which is a support, education, and advocacy group for people with disabilities. This is a true to life book and was inspired by his children.

This book shows how a physical problem does not make any person different from another. Gary’s philosophy is that “We all have disabilities, so that term means little. Physically challenged and handicapped are terms that imply this is all a game; life is too important for me to believe that. I am a man, husband, and father. Those roles are so important I wrote a book about them. I hope you’ll read it.”
