JCHS Rocks The Vote

The Jefferson County Election Office was on hand Tuesday to register eligible students to vote. Students ages 18 or over were able to register to vote during their lunch break in the Commons Area of Jefferson County High School. The registration coincided with National Voter Registration Day and was a spotlight event promoted by Secretary of State of Tennessee, Tre Hargett.  With recent campaigns such as Rock the Vote, there has been an emphasis put on the importance of encouraging young voters to participate in the electoral process. Jefferson County will be engaging in a new election cycle starting in the Spring of 2014.
