Have Questions About the New Health Care Law?

The League of Women Voters of Jefferson County will hold its monthly program on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, 7:00 p.m., at the Appalachian Electric Cooperative, 1109 Hill Street, New Market.  In keeping with its theme of addressing health care and education this year, the October program is aimed at providing the local community with information on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and how it may affect individuals.  The new law goes into effect on October 1. Information will be presented by Terri Lawson, Director of the Tennessee Conference on Social Welfare.
The local community and all League members are invited to attend this important presentation.  This marks the beginning of a series of efforts the League is undertaking to provide education and assistance to the public on the new health care law. The League of Women Voters is non-partisan and welcomes new members, men and women alike.  The League’s programs are open to the public.  It’s regular meeting date is the second Tuesday of the month.  For more information contact Membership Coordinator Linda Lawson, 865-397-8477.
