Matte Make Up

Hello darlings, big make-up news is the matte look.  For the last  few years the dewy, dripping with  moisture and shine, look was the fashion for face and nails.  Now, buy a different make-up base to start with, of course, one that is labeled matte finish,.  Do not think powder is the trick, the look is simply a more polished  finished.  The mistake is getting too much on.  If the base feels too mask like, dip a cosmetic sponge in water,  just a drop or two, and gently pat the face.   Let it dry and lightly correct the area, if needed.

Also, there is a big change in lip color!  Reds, bold bright colors and deep plumbs are the  new fashion.   Lips need to be in good condition.  Flakes or peeling cracked lips ruins the matte look.  A mixture of brown sugar and honey applied to lips, (one tablespoon of each mixed), let set for five minutes then gently scrub, apply coconut oil and blot.  Bed time is the perfect time for this treatment.  If one is intimidated about the bold lip colors, try this technique.  Line the lips, apply bold color, then use a concealer pen to clean up around the edges.  Now is the time for powder. In the final step, lightly powder to set a matte finish.  Olay has a great concealer balm for ten dollars at Walgreen’s.

Nail are even going matte! One may use their same polish and top with a  matte finish topcoat. Even metallic becomes matte with the suggested topcoat   Red nails are hot this season to match the vampy red lips, as shown on the Bradley Mischaka runway. Essie Matte About You, topcoat is ten dollars, ultra.com and OPI Matte topcoat is nine dollars.   Can’t wait for the matte topcoat, just pour about ten drops of topcoat in a paper cup and add a pinch of cornstarch, then apply to regular polish. Quick and easy home chemistry!
