Jefferson County High School had its homecoming on Friday, October 3rd. The homecoming celebration coincided with the breast cancer awareness movement, and the homecoming events kicked off at the football game’s coin toss, where cancer survivors from the area and student body, both past and present, were honored. Many students and groups supported the awareness movement with their outfits or, in some cases, jewelry. At halftime, it was time to announce the highly anticipated Homecoming Queen. Senior Autumn Dodson was crowned amidst an uproar of applause, and joined the other nominees as they were led off the field in dazzling fashion. The celebration also extended to the JCHS band, as many alumni were present, many of which participated in the band’s performance after the game. Topping off the evening’s events, the dominating victory held by Jefferson Country in the football game cemented the night as one to remember by the ocean of fans, students, and players proudly supporting the red, white and blue.
