The Jefferson County Patriots fell on the road Friday night, as they traveled to Cherokee High School to take on the Chiefs. Jefferson County was looking to bounce back from last weeks heartbreaking defeat on the road against neighboring rivals Morristown West. Friday’s 17-7 loss to Cherokee marks back to back conference losses for the Patriots. Jefferson County struggled in the first half to find their groove against the Chiefs, who took a two touchdown lead before the end of the second quarter. The Patriots rallied in the second half but still came up short, though they managed to hold the Chiefs to putting only 3 additional points on the board. Looking ahead for the Patriots, they will return home to Shannon Field on October 25th, to host the district leaders the Smoky Bears. They will close out the regular season on November 1st, when they take on Morristown East in Dumplin Valley.
