IDB – Local incentives to attract economic growth

The Jefferson County Industrial Development Board met on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in the Jefferson County Health Department.

The Meeting was Called to Order by Board Chairman Masters. Present for Roll Call were Board Members Keck, Worley, Kisabeth, Jenkins and Shelton.

With a Motion from Kisabeth and 2nd from Keck the Minutes were Approved. The Financial Report, showing a balance of $149,028, was Approved with a Motion from Worley and 2nd from Kisabeth.

Chairman Masters stated that he is still compiling a list of County owned property and will present the list to the Board upon completion.

Director of Jefferson County Economic Development Wagley introduced Mark Mamantov, who addressed the Board concerning local incentives available to the Industrial Development Board to attract economic growth. Mamantov presented information on tax abatements in the form of PILOTS and TIFs, the difference in viable usage and impact of each.

Following the presentation and questions and having no new business to consider before the Board, the meeting Adjourned.
