Thirty Jefferson County High School students have been honored as Wendy’s High School Heisman Award Winners. Students are selected for the award based on a show of athletic talent in one of 27 eligible sports, academic achievement and community service. This is the 20th year that the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award Program has been recognizing student- scholar athletes, in an effort to promote academic excellence in young athletes. The thirty student-scholar athletes from Jefferson County High School join a distinguished group of more than 353,000 that have been honored since the program’s inception in 1994. Students must maintain a grade point average of a B or better and demonstrate an active involvement in their community for eligibility.
