The Gatlinburg Convention Center was filled with tasty food on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, as a Taste of Autumn came to everyone’s favorite burg. The annual event benefits the Sevier County United Way, which works to improve the lives of Sevier County residents with programs such as the Boys and Girls Club. New this year was the addition of a celebrity guest host and Nan Kelley, host of Great American Country, was on hand to add some pizzazz to the evening’s program. Kelley has had a long love of the area, as it was a favorite family get away of childhood, and her parents accompanied her to Tuesday’s event. She said that Gatlinburg is the place that she comes for a few days of rest and relaxation. Drawn by the beauty of the mountains and the quaint appeal of one of America’s best loved burgs, Nan pops into Gatlinburg to meet up with her family and spend some quality time together. She categorized the Taste of Autumn event as a triple threat, offering wonderful food and entertainment for a great cause, and all wrapped up in spectacular beauty of Gatlinburg in the fall.

Local chef’s teamed up with area celebrities to have a friendly cook off, with each presenting a unique recipe from their establishment. Restaurants and businesses brought in tasty fare in abundance, for attendees to enjoy. The eclectic and delectable range of choices made it certain that there were many treats for everyone to indulge themselves. The Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce coordinated the event and it is the pinnacle fun raiser for the United Way of Sevier County.
