The Douglas Cherokee Head Start’s Patti Harris, Jefferson County Family Service Worker and Tina Hyleman, Family Service Worker, awarded Cato Store #0581’s Terri Matteson and Candace Hayes with a certificate of appreciation for all of the clothing donations throughout the years.

Cato’s has been donating to the Head Starts parent clothing closet for many years now. The clothing that is donated has slight damage or has been discontinued, instead of destroying the product; they supply them to the Douglas Cherokee Head Start.

Douglas Cherokee Head Start then in turn host a Clothing Closet, which allows parents who are seeking work or become employed the opportunity to receive free clothing that may improve their chances of gaining the job. They also host a Parent Fair that is November the 15th from 9-12 at the Jefferson City Boys and Girls club. The parent fair is open to all parents of Head Start Students here in Jefferson County. Multiple vendors will be on site, along with the clothing closet. There will also be door prizes given away at the event.
