Great Styles in Plus Sizes

Darlings, so many of my readers have requested  more articles about plus size fashion.  Since the majority of American women are beautiful and style conscience in the plus size range, designers and fashion magazines should  focus on the fact there is a definite need  for plus size fashions

First, let’s start by erasing certain myths that have made so many women feel certain styles and fabrics are taboo for any woman less than a bean stalk.  Stripes have had a bad  name for a long time with plus size women. No more my dears, it has to do with  the size of the stripes, big bold stripes are perfect  for you. Avoid the tiny small stripes. Yes, even horizontal  large stripes are appreciate. Leggings with a definite stripe of a different fabric  in the same color going down the sides of the leg is a perfect style.   The Stripe is slenderizing for the legs. Boyfriend style jeans really rock when topped with a blazer.   For a weekend look, top the jeans with a  sweat shirt.  No, the sweat shirt will not look sloppy, choose one with bling that has the trendy look for this season.  Think no more that plus size gals should  always wear a dress with a waist!  In fact, a flowing full dress without a waist is very flattering.  Choose a length that only comes to the knees, it makes one look younger and sexy.  This style dress, topped with a duster of the same length and color, is so elegant.  In fact, if  helping a client  choose a  wardrobe, my suggestion would be to have this combination in many different fabrics and colors.  Yes, even  bold prints are for plus size dolls.  The large pattern is more slenderizing because it covers  a larger area of the body.  Fringe is in this year and  moves in such a sultry way.  So, for the holiday season select a tunic with fringe worn with black slacks.

Shoes are best without ankle straps, as the strap stops the leg line and makes it look shorter, but feel  free to wear the feminine stiletto.  A nude tone shoe always adds length to leg.  Do you have a hard time finding boots that fit the legs perfectly?  Wider boots are available on Zippos.com and some plus size specialty stores.

Don’t be afraid of bold colors, thinking only the basic black, gray and beige are best.  Let go, and choose bright jewel tones like deep purple, emerald green, ruby red and deep royal blue,  as if someone left the gate open  in the color field!!!

An important key to looking in style is the choice of accessories.  Go for the fashionista trend.  Wear a watch with two or more bracelets,  and also stack bracelets on the other arm.  Long necklaces are  better than a choker type, so combine long strands of any type of necklaces with a pendant that is special to your personality.  Pearls are always great worn in the “Chanel” style (many strands to the waist).  Large ear rings are more flattering, as are larger rings.  Scarves are very important to really finish a style and achieve the maximum chic. Try a trendy scarf with fringe for a special zing.

Now go shop with a sense of fashion freedom!  Look in the mirror, aren’t you the bomb?
