Christmas in Dandridge Calendar of Events offers Variety of Activities this Season
Dandridge invites everyone to join in the fun and festivities for their Annual Christmas in Dandridge Events. The season begins with the official Tree Lighting on Thursday, November 21st, hosted on the Jefferson County Courthouse Steps. In keeping with the entire Holiday Season of celebration, the Dandridge Ministerial Association will host the tree-lighting with a theme of “A Season of Giving and Thanks”, with the help of the Dandridge Elementary Choir and guests. Attendees are invited for cookies and cocoa immediately following Ceremony.
Small Business Saturday (November 30th) invites all ages to join in the fun for “Photos with Santa” and local favorite “Cookies with Mrs. Claus”. Family friendly rides touring downtown will be also be hosted that day.
“In keeping with Main Street beliefs, Small Business Saturday is a way of encouraging everyone to shop at their favorite local shop in Dandridge,” states Tina Murrow, Executive Director of Dandridge Community Trust.
“Small businesses offer such unique, one-of-a-kind Christmas gift items and a personal shopping experience.”
In keeping with past traditions, candlelight shopping is back by popular demand starting Friday, December 6th. This evening will host carriage rides, carolers, refreshments, store specials and extended shopping hours. This is a great evening to enjoy the quaint beauty of the historic downtown by horse drawn carriage, the fun of a “Girls Night Out” shopping and the wonderful sounds of the season as local bell and chancel choirs fill the streets with Christmas carols.
Shopping season will be in full swing as businesses host their Open Houses from Friday, November 29th through Saturday, December 7th. Many of the downtown shops will offer extended hours each Friday through Christmas for your shopping convenience.
The long standing favorite, the Dandridge Christmas Parade, will be on Saturday, December 21st at 1:30 p.m.
