Students Raise Funds for FFA with Pecans and a Coon Hunt

Jefferson County High School’s Future Farmers of America held a fundraiser last weekend at the Jefferson Farmer’s Co-Op. Beyond braving the frigid temperatures to sell bags of pecans, which will help with projects throughout the year, they also hosted a raccoon hunt. Around three dozens teams of hunting enthusiasts and novices participated in the hunt, which cumulated with check in at 10 pm at the CO-OP. Officers for the FFA are Presidents-Kenzie Manley, Lora Satterfield, Vice Presidents-Kymber Dillman, Daniel Hawkins, Jarret Moser, Sentinel-Kassie Hall, Olivia Miller Secretary -Ty Hodges, Katie Elder Treasurer-Savannah Orr, Samantha Doute, Parliamentarians-Ryan Lyle, Hannah Norman, Reporter-Kristen Anders, Chaplin-Haley Branch. FFA sponsor and JCHS teacher, Jim Satterfield, was on hand to help the students in their fundraising endeavor, as well as a plethora of FFA students.
