The Jefferson County Rescue Squad held its annual Christmas banquet and awards ceremony on December 9, 2013.  During this night members and their families are treated to a meal prepared by the crewettes.  The awards for Most Calls went to Adam Watson.  The second Most Calls went to Mike Romines.  Squadman of the Year went to Adam Watson as well. The Squadman of the Year Award is given for meritorious service to the Rescue Squad. The rescue squad put in 5,236 volunteered man hours so far for the 2013 year. During these hours the members have had 448 calls which consisted of 72 standbys, 228 motor vehicle accidents, 33 water assists, 58 medical assists, 19 missing persons calls, 1 building collapse, and assisted in 7 drownings in and outside of Jefferson County. The squad also assisted in the tragic bus accident on I-40.  The 2014-2015 officers were inducted on Monday night and will take office January 1, 2014. The 2014-2015 officers are Captain J. Ray Walker, 1st Lt. RT Lawson, 2nd Lt. JD Clevenger, Warrant Officer Lavonda Clevenger,Sgt. Eddie Frye, Secretary Kayla Foust, Treasurer Paul LeClercg, Chaplain Adam Watson, Unit Director Brian Poole, Historian Cecilia Miller, and Parliamentarian Stacy Large.  State Representative Andrew Farmer was present in support of the department.
