Great Gift Ideas for the Style Guru… aka The Girl That Has Everything!
Last week, I gave a few recommendations for the techie in your life. This week I’m going to touch on a completely different type of person to shop for, the girls. Not just any girl, the fashion and makeup guru who seems to own everything or that new high school diva that just has to have the latest in “cool.” The first gift to mention has got to be the popular winter boots from UGG Australia. However, what’s even better is straying a bit from the usual classics and surprising her with something a little classic with a little bit comfy and dressy. New this year, the UGG Bailey Bling Boot comes in two sizes, booties for $185 or ankle short for $220. They look similar to the beloved original UGGs but with a softer fold over piece and a bright sparkling jewel- perfect for the holidays. They also come in a range of colors besides neutrals and neons. This includes earthy jewel tones with deep violet, navy, and maroon. Keeping on topic with style, accessorizing is a must lately. Why not get her something that can be worn over and over and still get compliments? Kate Spade has a gorgeous collection of jewelry this season with an elegant-whimsical theme. The line is designed to be the go-to statement piece of the outfits and are available at huge variety of jewelry stores. I personally recommend the Secret Garden Studs running at $58.00. The beautiful studs take a classic pearl-like style and surround it with small crystals set in gold. They are absolutely perfect for nights out or even for adding a glam touch to everyday outfits. Next up has got to be the perfect gift for the girl looking for her signature scent or the type that hoards up on her favorite scents. However, we all know that perfumes can smell a bit different and sometimes down right bad on different people. This is why I recommend a variety set. The perfect one can be found at your department store or mall kiosk or the closest Sephora. Marc Jacobs is offering a holiday exclusive for a steal this year: a roller ball trio of their top fragrances for only $39. Perfect for tossing your purse on the go, the trio includes Daisy Eau So Fresh, Daisy (classic), and their new top selling DOT. Whether the event calls for a certain sense of sophistication, or a light playful air, this trio has you covered. However, it is limited edition for the holidays so snag one while you can! Now what is she going to carry these cute little goodies in other than the latest bag? Vera Bradley has come out with a few classics that have gotten a makeover recently. Exclusive to the holiday season are the Shimmer Evening Bag and Shimmer Wristlet, but don’t let the name fool you. These bags can be used as accessories to that perfect outfit everyday as well. The design is called Canterberry Magenta for both bags and are petite enough for the little necessities but big enough for daily use. These run for $58 and $46. For $56 you can also look into purchasing the Mini-Frame Cross body that comes in classic black with a modern quilted design. As it’s name suggest, it can be carried cross body but also as a handbag. Perfect for the OCD type who doesn’t want to worry about matching Canterberry Magenta to every outfit. Better yet, they’re available at our local shop, Rowena’s. Finally, I’ll leave my last recommendation for the makeup guru- the girl who rocks a different look everyday or always has the flawless face and mascara routine down pat. Again, Sephora rings in with another perfect gift. You can also find it from the Benefit website though. Known for their magical mascara that somehow curls, defines, lengthens, and volumizes every lash in one wand, Benefit Cosmetics has a cute “disco-inspired” Matthew Williamson Palette and Kit. Don’t let the disco theme throw you off. Right now for only $24, the kit comes with the magical They’re Real Mascara, Inferno Lipgloss, Gimme Fever Cheek Powder, and a 4 color Eyeshadow Palette in “Solid Gold,” “Get Down Brown,” “Disco Dust,” and “Feel So Teal.” The mascara runs for $24 alone better yet with all these goodies! The mascara is already a must have steal but these colors are good for everyday. The blush is a nice matte peach and comes with a brush. The first three eyeshadows mentioned in the palette are just nicely pigmented browns perfect for a smokey eye or a natural look. “Disco Dust” is the absolute perfect eyeshadow base. “Feel So Teal” is an earthy jewel tone that can be used for bolder looks or a soft pop of color- especially on brown and green eyes. This little goodie comes all wrapped up in a limited edition case with a nice built in mirror also. If this isn’t the kit for her, Benefit offers several other with various “famous” products other than their mascara. They run from $28 to $32 and each have a cute theme. Take a look and see what fits perfect for the style goddess you’re shopping for.
