Holiday Parties
The Holidays are just around the corner and that means many parties. While this is certainly one of the busiest times of the year that does not mean that good manners can take a back seat. If you are one of those that will be hosting a party this year, for either Christmas or New Years, kudos to you! Opening your home is a wonderful way to show friends and family that you care about them. If you are lucky enough to have an invitation to a celebration then it is appropriate to show your appreciation to the host. For company or business gatherings, keep it simple. A nice fruit basket or Seasonal plant or flower is a good choice. If you have a more personal relationship with the host then that opens up a variety of options. For neighbors and friends, food is always a good gift. A homemade loaf of specialty bread or cookies is nice. So are home canned goods, like jelly or relish. If you know that the host will not be offended, a nice bottle of their favorite wine is always appreciated. For those parties where the host is a close friend or family member, try a nice bubble bath or a monogrammed handkerchief. Cute kitchen towels, seasonal serving pieces, scented soaps or candles or a box of good candy are always appropriate for any host gift. Another good go to gift is a pretty Christmas ornament. Whatever you decide, I can guarantee that it will bring a smile to your host’s face. Remember to drop a card in the mail thanking them for their hospitality, even if it is a family gathering. Hope you have a great pre Holiday week and enjoy every second of every party that you attend!
