Police Give Chase To Burglary Suspect In Dandridge

In a release from the Jefferson County, TN Sheriff’s Department, Monday, December 23, 2013 at 365 Economy Drive Dandridge, Tn. a neighbor reported seeing a person carrying items from this residence. The man left driving a small blue pick-up with a wheel barrel in the back. The neighbor attempt to follow the pick-up truck but lost sight of it. Deputy Sgt. Bowen, Deputy Time Tewell, and Deputy Adam Jefferson surrounded the area. Approx. two hours latter Deputy Tewell spotted the vehicle on Green Hill Road in Jefferson County. Tewell attempt to stop the vehicle but the vehicle fled. Deputy Jefferson attempted to block the intersection of Green Hill and HWY 139 but the vehicle continued on HWY 139 toward Dandridge. The Vehicle turn onto Cherokee Drive and Sheriff McCoig assisted by Deputy Bud Stansberry blocked the vehicle in at Cherokee Drive and HWY 25 & 70. The male ran on foot and Sheriff McCoig gave chase and after a half mile run Bradley Joe Walker age 27 of 133 James Way Dandridge, Tn. Was taken into custody by Sheriff McCoig , assisted by Sheriff Deputies and Dandridge Police Officers.

Sheriff McCoig continued the investigation and recovered stolen Jewelry Walker had thrown along Interstate 40 in Knox County. Sheriff McCoig identified five additional Burglaries Walker had committed.

Sheriff G.W. Bud McCoig thanks the neighbor for helping solve these burglaries. “We continue to work with our communities in helping keep them safe. Getting this person off the street was a great Christmas gift for me”.
