Girl Scouts Ready for Cookie Season

It’s that time of the year where girls of many different troops rally together to kick off the Girl Scout Cookie sale. The cookie sale was launched with a rally Saturday, January 4, 2014. Girls from surrounding area troops met at Shady Grove Baptist Church to gather for the event.  The rally teaches the girls how to set a goal, create impactful marketing, use technology to create a buzz, and, of course, earn awesome rewards. Besides offering girl scouts a way to accumulate badges and become accustomed to the process, the event was also used to teach the young attendees how to sell their product safely around neighborhoods. The official date for preorders of cookies is slated for January 10th. Booth sales will begin when cookies come in at the end of February.
