The Patriots used a stingy defense to slow down red hot Morristown West. The Trojans came in to town Monday night boasting wins in five of their last six district games. The Patriots , however, forced 14 turnovers and cruised to a 65-42 win over the Trojans.

Jefferson County got down early in the first quarter 2-0 but outscored the Trojans 20-6 over the final six minutes of the quarter. Danny Bates would hit two consecutive three point baskets towards the end of the quarter and Jefferson County led, 20-8, after one. The second quarter was a defensive struggle, but the Patriots would remain in control and take a 31-17 lead in to the half. John Bryant would score 10 of his game high 21 in the third, and the Patriots led 49-27 after three. The game was evenly contested in the fourth quarter, but for Morristown West , it was too little too late.
