Repticon, a national reptile and amphibian show operating throughout the United States, hosted their first show in Knoxville, TN on February 16 & 17 2014: an event that had not been originally planned by the administrative group. Fans of Repticon insisted by sending out a petition and starting a social media campaign that gained the attention of many fellow fans, as well as the attention from Repticon, itself. This was the first Repticon for the area, but will not be the last, as there was such a successful turnout.

Repticon is a series of reptile and exotic animal conventions currently running throughout the U.S. The show features animal breeders from around the country, vendors, and live animal shows: a great mix of exhibitors that provide hands-on-line animal presentations that are educational and fun.

The Knoxville show had an overwhelming turnout as reptile enthusiast brought the whole family to check out the animals and to invest in the next family pets. The show had a variety that included chameleons, ball pythons, bearded dragons, hognose snakes, Pac-man frogs, rodents, hedgehogs, water dogs, and many more. The show’s manager, Joe Lesh, was thrilled by the turn out, pleasantly surprised by the attendance on merely the first day. Repticon has shows in Chattanooga, Nashville and Memphis scheduled within the next year.
