Jefferson County High School held its annual ACT Luncheon to celebrate students that achieve a composite score of 21 or better on the ACT test. Students enjoy special seating in the lunchroom and are served by staff members. This is the third year that JCHS has hosted the ACT luncheon and it is designed to recognize the importance of meeting the Tennessee Hope Scholarship benchmark of a composite score of 21. Those that continue their post secondary education at a two or four year institution will qualify for the Hope Scholarship dollars via their ACT Score or graduating Grade Point Average (GPA). Jefferson County High School has been working diligently to increase the composite scores of their students to ensure that they can receive the Hope Scholarship. This year the school’s improvement goal is to increase the composite average from a 19.7 to a 20. According to information provided by the Jefferson County High School Guidance Office, approximately 140 students were invited to attend last week’s luncheon.
