March 12th is a day to celebrate for those savvy internet users across the globe. The World Wide Web turns 25 and celebrates two and a half decades of bring people together and transferring information, despite the miles that separate them. Perhaps the technology immersed envisioned the impact that the World Wide Web would have on society but few laymen could foresee what twenty five years would bring. Gone are the days of trolling through mounds of printed material to get the answers to life’s important, and not so important, questions. Information has fingertip availability and the secrets of lands far and near are readily accessible. The World Wide Web has influenced nearly every aspect of society, from academic to dating, and the impact continues to grow. Happy Birthday to the World Wide Web and thank you to Tim Berners-Lee, the creator of Mosaic, the granddaddy of the wed browsers, without which this article would not be possible.
